Impact Data Metrics is celebrating being part of the team that helped English Cities Fund – a strategic joint venture between urban regenerator, Muse Developments, Legal & General and Homes England - secure an appointment to deliver the Salford Crescent masterplan, one of the most exciting regeneration schemes in the North West. The £2.5bn project covers 240 acres of the University of Salford’s existing campus, areas around the Salford Crescent, Peel Park and Frederick Road North.
The fund has already made a transformative impact in the area through the Salford Central scheme. It has regenerated over 50 acres of the city to deliver innovative commercial space and Build to Rent homes at New Bailey, alongside a number of high-quality, multi-award winning homes along Chapel Street.
The Salford Crescent masterplan is being spearheaded by Salford City Council and the University of Salford. It will create a new mixed-used district for Greater Manchester, with a new residential neighbourhood and innovation park at its core. The latest development will connect learning and discovery with training and jobs, while providing the city with a quality place to make a home.
The scheme has the potential to create 3,000 new homes, one million square feet of commercial and innovation space for health automation and robotics as well as one million square feet of education floor space.
As part of its winning proposal, the fund enlisted the expertise of IDM to help build a strategy that highlighted how the council and university partners could meet its objectives and deliver a world-class development.

The objectives for the Salford Crescent masterplan include creating a place to learn, research and collaborate; creating a place surrounded by art, culture and heritage; and creating an environment where industry and academia come together. The plans centre around the University of Salford’s campus, including areas around the Crescent, Peel Park, and Frederick Road North, extending to the listed elements of the Museum & Art Gallery, Salford Crescent station and green spaces at the Meadows, Peel Park and the David Lewis Sports Ground.
